Flowing curves, fluid motion, and attention to detail highlight the beauty and grace of this fearsome predator. It showcases Singer’s ability to sculpt heavy gauge steel into elegant forms and camouflage structural supports by incorporating them into the artwork. Shark! was creating using a combination of his own unique style of hand forging, fabrication, and welding. The finish includes acid base copper plating, chemical patina, and polymer resin coat.

Shark! is available for sale. Contact Abe for more information.

Coastal Currents Magazine

Summer 2020

A progress picture of my upcoming sculpture, Metamorphosis, and my current installation, Reflection, were recently published with a short interview in the summer edition of Coastal Currents Magazine alongside some great local artists. Coincidentally, two of the other artists featured in the article had a hand in Metamorphosis. Jennifer Kuhns @jenn.kuhns @JKMosaic cut the blue glass eyespots in the butterfly’s wings and Johnny Camp @Opal Art Glass blew the glass pistols at the center of the flowers, which will have lighting concealed within for a soft glow at night. It’s fun to collaborate with artists who specialize in other mediums. I’m lucky to have these two talented artists nearby! And thank you to Gail Ayres for the lovely article. Westport Winery owners, Blain and Kim Roberts, have selected Montesano artist Abe Singer to create the sculpture for Message In A Bottle. For those who have been admiring the new garden near the winery’s entrance, you will be delighted to know this is also the location for the new sculpture. This garden and the sculpture will metaphorically tell the story of wine from grape to glass. Additionally, the garden is designed as a four season garden by winery co-owner Kim Roberts. Singer, when not creating art, is a plumbing contractor.
